In June 2017 Castleconnell held its first Street Feast after 11:30 am mass and it was very well received. Everyone contributed by bringing cakes, buns and tarts. We organised the tea’s & coffees side of things and it was a very social event with people taking time to stop and chat. Some groups brought a picnic, some chairs and made a day of it. It is an event we will revisit in the future.
Bradshaw’s we were delighted and very proud to receive two awards in 2017. Castleconnell Tidy Town’s Committee awards: “Best Presented Business” and the “Best Front Entrance”. We pride ourselves in maintaining a high standard throughout our premises, but we pay particular attention to the front of our bar. It is wonderful to have acknowledgement for our efforts from this very hard-working committee.
St. Patrick’s Day 2018 gave us an opportunity to contribute to the “Focus Ireland” Homeless Campaign. We got our staff t-shirts to wear on the day from the Hairy Baby t-shirt company. All profits went directly to the homeless.
Bradshaw’s are always interested in supporting local initiatives. We were delighted to host one of the first event’s organised by the Love Castleconnell committee. We played our part in this initiative by hosting a historical talk by local historian Paddy Touhy in our Garden area. This was very well received by more than 60 visitors to our garden. Complimentary tea & coffee with some apple sponge bake went down a treat. We also organised face painting and colouring for the children. The talk was followed by a walk around the village of Castleconnell and such was the success that there are plans to expand with more similar events.
